Mindy Bowman joined the Ferrum athletics staff as Assistant Volleyball Coach in September 2016. Bowman was a four-year starter for Ferrum from 2005-08, earning All-Conference and Academic All-Conference all four years. She also earned All-State twice and Academic All-State twice, and was the 2008 Ferrum College President's Cup recipient. Bowman still holds six school records at Ferrum.

Bowman's coaching experience included six years as Head Volleyball Coach at nearby Franklin County High School, where she led the Eagles to VHSL regional playoff berths all six years. Franklin County won a Piedmont District title under Bowman.
