GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Ferrum College finished 7th at the 2007 USA South Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Championship, held Oct. 27at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro.

Sophomore Tiffany Garnett was Ferrum's top finisher. She completed the 6K course in a time of 30:13, good for 26th place in a field of 59 runners. Freshman Michelle Ayers finished 29th for the Panthers in a time of 30:35.

CNU posted a perfect score of 15, capturing the top five spots. The Captains' Amy Wampler was the individual champion.  Mary Baldwin was second with 80 points, followed by Shenandoah at 90 and Meredith College at 99. Methodist was fifth at 118, followed by Greensboro at 150, and Ferrum with 175. North Carolina Wesleyan College was last at 221.
