ROANOKE, Va. -- The Ferrum College women's cross country teams participated at the 2008 Maroon Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College Sept. 20 at Cave Spring High School. Ferrum finished last in a field of 11 teams with a score of 279.
Roanoke won the race with a team score of 23, including first-place and third-place runners overall. Mary Baldwin was second at 70, followed by Penn State Altoona at 79

The Panthers's top runner was
Tiffany Garnett, who finished the 5K race in a time of 24:56. Garnett's time was good for a 47th-place finish in a field of 89 runners.
Michelle Ayers was 52nd at 25:45 and
Anne Curry 76th at 29:35.
Hannah Martin and
Rose Dennis posted back-to-back finishes in 83rd and 84th place, respectively. Martin posted a time of 31:48, while Rose was a few second back at 31:57. Ferrum will run next at the Greensboro Invitational, held Sept. 27 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
