FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College was shutout in women's tennis this afternoon, falling 9-0 at home to non-conference opponent Randolph-Macon College (2-2).
The Panthers were swept in doubles, falling behind 3-0 heading into singles play. Newcomers
Lea McMillan and
Kiawna Berry had a tough 9-7 loss at #3 doubles to RMC's Margetet Giffen and
Lauren Cox.
Brittany Rodgers fell 6-3, 6-1 to Windsor Tyler at #1 singles,
Angelina Baaklini fell 6-0, 6-1 to Martha Vlahakis at #2, and Berry dropped a 6-3, 6-3 match to Giffen.
Heather Marshall,
Morgan Moran and
Cameron Kolinski each dropped an 8-game pro set at #4-6 singles, respectively.
Ferrum (0-3) will be back in action Friday, March 13, at home against Huntingdon (AL) College. Coach Lew Hege's team will be in action alongside the men's team in a non-conference doubleheader, starting at 3 p.m. at the Burrows-Skeens Tennis Complex.
