STAUNTON, VA. -- Ferrum College picked up a 5-4 win over Mary Baldwin College in USA South Athletic Conference women's tennis March 18 on the road.
Kiawna Berry was a double-winner for the Panthers, earning wins at #3 singles and #3 doubles. Berry teamed with
Cameron Kolinski for an 8-3 win over Dasha Caron and Erica Gaughan. Berry then posted a hard-fought win in three sets over Mary Baldwin's Ania Grazynska, winning 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.
Morgan Moran was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Karren Torres at #5 singles, while
Lea McMillan also won in straight sets over Gretchen Domaleski 6-3, 6-4.
Angelina Bakklini and
Heather Marshall rounded won 8-3 at #2 doubles over Grazynska and Domaleski.
Ferrum improves to 1-3 overall, 1-0 in the USA South. Mary Baldwin fell to 0-3, 0-1 USA Souh.
Ferrum is back in action Thursday, March 19, at home against Southern Virginia University. The non-conference match, a doubleheader with Ferrum's men, begins at 4 p.m. at the Burrows/Skeens Tennis Complex on the Ferrum campus.
