ELON, N.C. -- The Ferrum College men's and women's cross country teams competed this morning at the 2012 Elon Cross Country Invitational.  For Coach Rob Fuller's runners, it was the season-opening race for both teams.

Hailey Moran was ferrum's top finisher in the women's race, completing the 5K course in a time of 25:50 to place 32nd of 37 runners.  Courtney Crockett closed with a time of 26:55 to finish 33rd.  Rose Dennis and LeAnn Felty placed 36th and 37th with times of 32:48 and 39:31, respectively.  The Panthers did not place as a team.

On the men's side, Joseph Cudjoe was the Panthers lone runner.  He completed the 8K course in a time of 37:13 to place 25th of 28 runner.  The Panther men also did not place as a team.  Both Ferrum teams will be back in action next on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Roanoke College Invitational, to be held in Salem, Virginia.
