Action PhotosFERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College fell 7-2 this afternoon in men's tennis to visiting Emory & Henry College at the Burrows-Skeens Tennis Complex.
Taylor Napier was a double-winner for the Panthers, earning victories in both singles and doubles.
Napier opened the afternoon when he teamed with
Garrett Freese to claim an 8-6 win over Emory & Henry's John Ferguson and Alex Polydoroff at #1 doubles. He then beat Polydoroff 6-4, 2-6 1-0 (10-8) at #2 singles. Emory & Henry (2-1) won at #2 and #3 doubles, and claimed singles wins at #1 and #3-6.
Kevin Minter dropped a tough three-set battle at #5 singles, falling 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) to the Wasps' Eric Logan.
Ferrum (0-1) returns to action Friday, Oct. 10, with a road match at Southern Virginia University. The match is to set begin at 4:00 p.m. in Buena Vista, Virginia, and will be part of a non-conference doubleheader with the Panther women.
