Keith Ricks had a pair of goals to lead Ferrum College to a 2-1 win over Emory & Henry College in non-conference men's soccer action tonight on the road. Ricks scored his first goal unassisted at 26:00, then notched his second at 32:17 off a
Jesse Cortez corner kick.
Jared Eiriksson scored for the Wasps in the 58th minute of play, but the Panther defense preserved the win from there.
Zach Moorman played all 90 minutes in net with five saves for Ferrum. Ferrum outshot Emory & Henry 11-9 and closed with a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
Ferrum (1-1-1) returns to action Saturday, Sept. 13, at home against Warren Willson College, the alma mater of Ferrum Coach Andrew Pauly. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Penn-Roediger Field.
