LaGRANGE, Ga. --
Rashawn Speas had 14 points and eight rebounds as Ferrum College dropped a 71-66 USA South Athletic Conference men's basketball game this afternoon at LaGrange College. Ferrum led by one at halftime.
Jamal Pullen's layup with 8:03 remaining in the second half tied the game at 56-56. Alex Bonner's three-point basket at 7:26 put LaGrange out in front, jump-starting a 15-10 run that would give the home team the win. Nick Mitchell led LaGrange (8-6, 2-2 USA South) with 21 points, Justin Olson finished with 17 points and Bonner chipped in 14 points.
Ferrum (6-10, 1-4 USA South) got 12 points from
Alek Ayer and nine points from Pullen. The Panthers return to action Friday, Jan. 23, at home against Piedmont College. The USA South game tips off at 5:30 p.m. and will be followed immediately by the Ferrum-Piedmont women's game.
