Marvin Wilson had 15 points to lead Ferrum College to an 83-74 USA South Athletic Conference men's basketball win over Maryville College this afternoon at Swartz Gym. The Panthers are on a three-game win streak.

How It HappenedThe Panthers broke a 38-38 halftime stalemate with a 25-16 run to open the second half and claim a nine point lead with 9:32 left to play. Maryville got as close as five points at 69-64 on Spencer Shoffner's free throw with just under five minutes left to play, but the Panthers closed the game with 14-10 run to hang on and win their league opener.
