PEMBROKE, N.C. -- Ferrum College dropped a men's basketball game to University of South Carolina at Beaufort, falling 104-74 this afternoon at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court. The non-conference game was part of second day action at the UNC Pembroke Thanksgiving Tournament.

THE BASICS
Abdulh Diaby's layup at 16:25 gave Ferrum a 6-4 lead, but USC Beaufort responded with a 13-3 run to take a 17-9 lead with just over 12 minutes left in the first half. The Sand Sharks expanded the lead to 24 points on Aiden Fitzgerald's three-pointer to make it a 54-30 make just before halftime, then USC-B led 56-35 at the break.Â
Ferrum would get as close at 16 points in the second half on
Amaris Hunt's layup with 14:49 left in the game. Ismail Rashid, the Sand Sharks' leading scorer tonight with 22 points, converted a layup with 3:16 left to play to gave USC-B its largest lead of the game at 101-64.Â
