FERRUM, Va. -- Starter Jake Perkins (1-0) struck out 10 batters in six innings, allowing one hit in a 9-0 non-conference baseball shutout over Southern Virginia University this afternoon at Panther Field.

How It Happened
Perkins got off to a great start, fanning two batters each in the first three innings. Anderson Ramos sent a blast over the right field fence for a solo home run in the fifth inning. Colin Bigelo (0-1) absorbed the loss for the Knights, tossing five innings with five hits and an earned run for the Knights.
