FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College picked up a pair of non-conference baseball wins over visiting Urbana University this afternoon at Panther Field.
Lane Deaver had three doubles in the opener to tie the single game school record.

Cliff Alexander (W, 1-1) allowed seven hits, and earned run and two walks over six nnings, with four strikeouts. Urbana jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings in the nightcap, including a two-run homer by Enmanuel Lopez in the third inning. Ferrum answered with six runs in the fourth inning, then played enough defense to hold on for the win.

Dustin Boothe had a pair of base hits each for the Panthers.
Dillon Weaver (W, 1-2) got the win after throwing four innings of a scheduled seven-inning game. He allowed four hits, four earned runs and a pair of walks, while striking out six.
