Clay Massie scored on a
Lane Deaver RBI single in the top of the 15th inning as Ferrum College opened the season with 3-2 non-conference baseball win over Hampden-Sydney College this afternoon at Ty Cobb Ballpark.

How It HappenedFerrum led 2-0 courtesy of a
Ty Comer 2-RBI single in the sixth inning. The Tigers scored a run in the botom of the eighth inning, then Moe Gothe belted a solo home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to send the game into extra innings. Massie walked in the 15th, advanced to second on an error, went to third on a walk, then came home on Deaver's single.
