How It HappenedJake Martin had a sac fly in the second inning, then had a two-run homer to key a five-run fifth inning to put Ferrum out in front 6-0. Piedmont answered in the bottom of the fifth with five runs, including a two-run homer by Breck Davidson, to trim the lead to 6-5. Carlos Ramos' double in the seventh inning drove in a run for the Panthers, then Austiin Winkles had an RBI single in the eighth for the final count.
