How It Happened
Ty Comer's two-RBI single in the bottom of the first inning gave Ferrum a 2-0 lead. The Maroons scored a pair in the top of the third inning, but the Panthers answered with four runs in the bottom half of the frame, two on
Lane Deaver's double down the left field line, one on Comer's single to right field and one on
Jordan Carmony's double to left center. Ferrum scored two runs in the sixth, two in the seventh and two more in the eighth , the last two on Ramos' homer that cleared the left field fence and smacked into the scoreboard. Roanoke would score two runs in the eighth and two in the ninth, but Ferum hung on for the first win in three games against the Maroons this season.
