ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Ferrum College split its last scheduled games of the 2016 season today in a doubleheader against North Carolina Wesleyan College this afternoon at Bauer Field. The Panthers dropped the opener 2-1, then rebounded with a resounding 10-0 win.

How It Happened
Ferrum took a 1-0 lead in the opener on Lucas Stevers' sacrifice fly in the third inning, scoring Logan Alger, who got on with a single to center field. The Bishops scored both runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. In the nightcap, Ferrum scored three in the first inning on Anderson Ramos' RBI double, Lane Deaver's ground out and Ty Comer's RBI single. The Panthers added three runs in the third inning, two in the sixth and two more in the seventh.

The Waiting Game
Coach Ryan Brittle's team will now wait a few weeks to learn its fate with regard to an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III playoffs. The Panthers have 29 wins and the USA South regular season title to their credit, as well as a win earlier in the season over a nationally-ranked opponent, Frostburg State University.
