Anderson Ramos' two-run homer in the fourth inning was the difference as Ferrum College picked up a 3-1 USA South Athletic Conference baseball win over visiting Averett University tonight at Panther Field.

How It HappenedLucas Stevers singled to left center to open the bottom of the fourth, then advanced to second on a passed ball. Ramos then clubbed a 2-1 pitch over the right field fence to put the Panthers on top 2-0. The Cougars answered in the fifth when Mike Moore hit into a double play but drove in a run to trim the lead to 2-1. The Panthers pushed another run across the plate in the sixth for the final count.
Jake Perkins pitched all nine innings, his second consecutive complete-game effort. He allowed five hits, no earned runs and a walk, and struck out nine batters.
