HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped a non-conference men's basketball game to #23 Maryville College in the Hampden-Sydney Classic, falling 84-47 at S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium.

THE BASICS
Ferrum jumped out to 4-0 lead on two Michael Spraggins free throws and a jumper by Kajuan Madden-McAfee. Maryville took the lead on a Myles Rasnick 3-pointer and never relinquished the lead for the remainder of the game. The Scots went on a 15-2 run to end the first half, leading 44-26 at the break.
In the second half, Maryville used a strong defensive effort to hold the Panthers to 21 points (24.2% from the field). The Scots forced twenty-five turnovers, had 14 steals in the game and scored 35-points off of those turnovers.
Madden-McAfee led all scorers in the game with 17-points.
