Panthers Pick up 5-2 ODAC Road Win

DANVILLE, Virginia -- The Ferrum College women's soccer team picked up a 5-2 road win over Averett University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play tonight at Daly Field.

THE BASICS
Ferrum took an early lead just 16 minutes into the game when Jadyn Patton took a pass from Jamie Adams and put it past Averett goalkeeper Alyson Kinkopf into the bottom right corner.

Sydney Miller doubled the Panther lead at the 37:14 mark, when she found the back of the net on a pass from Patton, to make it 2-0. Aubrey Billings took a perfectly placed free kick and put into the top left corner to make it a 3-0, with five minutes to play in the first half.

Celia Diego netted an unassisted goal for Averett to break up the shutout, at the 42:51 mark. An own goal by Averett at 49:51 gave Ferrum a 4-1 lead just moments into the second half. Gianna Minafo added a late goal for the Cougars, with a double-assist going to Erika Lindstrom and Diego. Camryn King scored the final goal of the game when she collected a pass from Janelle Manni and placed it into the bottom right corner.
