MISENHEIMER, North Carolina -- Lindsey Sears pitched a complete three-hit shutout, striking out seven batters, to help Ferrum College take the opener of a non-conference softball doubleheader with Pfeiffer University. The Panthers earned a 3-0 win in game one, before dropping the nightcap 6-0.

THE BASICS
Macie Bell's RBI double to right center in the top of the fourth inning in game one drove in
Skyler Swaney. In the sixth inning,
Breanna Weaver reached on an error, pushing
Myia Smith and
Mattie Friel across the plate for the final two runs of the game.
In the nightcap, Pfeiffer scored a run in the bottom of the first inning off Gracie Griffin's RBI single to left field. That run would prove to be the game-winning score. The Falcons went on to score two runs each in the second and third innings, then tacked on an insurance run in the fifth. Griffin had a two-run blast to left center in the third inning.
