FERRUM, Virginia -- #2 Christopher Newport University picked up a pair of non-conference softball games over Ferrum College, winning 5-2 and 4-1 at Vickie Van Kleeck Softball Complex.

GAME 1
The reigning NCAA Div. III national champion Captains belted three solo home runs in the second inning to get all they would need. Ferrum picked up two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, one on an RBI single by
Erin Nelson and the other on an error. CNU tacked on a pair of runs in the seventh inning for the final count.
