DANVILLE, Virginia-- The Ferrum College softball team fell in game one, 1-0, but bounced back for a 2-0 win in the second game of today's doubleheader against Averett University at Cougar Field in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

THE BASICS
In game one Taylor Sullivan pitched a shutout to earn the win for Averett, giving up just two hits and no walks. Karsin Lee drove in the lone run of the game for the Cougars in the fourth inning, on a single to left field.
Erin Nelson was charged with the loss for Ferrum, after pitching four innings, giving up just one run.
In game two, the Panthers
Lyndsey Sears drove in a run in the first inning to lead 1-0 and
Macie Bell scored on a wild pitch in the top of the fourth. Sears came on in relief to pitch and shut the Cougars down, striking out six batter and allowing no hits and just one baserunner.Â
