Women's Soccer Wins on the Road

CARY, North Carolina -- The Ferrum College women's soccer team won for the second time in as many games with today's non-conference win over William Peace University at WakeMed Soccer Park with a score of 3-1.

RECORDS
Ferrum (4-1-1)
William Peace (3-2-1)

THE BASICS
Ferrum scored the first goal in the opening three minutes of the game. Jamie Adams crossed the ball to Bri Bitz, who took a shot and put it just to right of WPU goalkeeper Mackenzie Kirk.

With less than five minutes remaining in the first half, Nat Eickhoff took a corner kick from the right side, and the curve on her shot carried the ball into the goal for Ferrum's second score of the afternoon and a 2-0 lead at the break.

The third and final score for Ferrum was registered at the 61:52 minute mark, where Bitz found the back of the net again with a through ball assist from Anna Milliron which left her one-on-one with the goalie.

Within the last 10 minutes of the game, William Peace's Lyndsey Knox scored unassisted to break up the shutout.
