Bitz Goal Leads Ferrum to Win at Home

FERRUM, Virginia -- Bri Bitz's goal in the sixth minute of play led Ferrum College to a 1-0 women's soccer win over Eastern Mennonite University tonight at Penn-Roediger Field.

THE BASICS
Bitz took a pass from Kayla Fedison and beat Eastern Mennonite goalkeeper Aja Laun at the 5:43 mark to record the lone goal tonight. Ferrum's defense did the rest from there to get the shutout. It was the fifth goal for Bitz this season, and she has a team-high 12 points through Ferrum's first seven games.

Ferrum outshot Eastern Mennonite 33-1 and closed with a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks. Laun posted 14 saves in net for the Royals.
