FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College picked up a non-conference volleyball win at home, beating Johnson & Wales (NC) University 3-0 tonight at Swartz Gym. Set scores were 25-8, 25-19, 25-13.

THE BASICS
Ferrum came out of the gates quickly, jumping out to an 8-1 lead, then held on for a lopsided 25-8 opening set win.
Bailey Terry crushed a set by
Kenzee Chaffin to close out the set.
The second set was much tighter, up to a 17-17 deadlock. The Panthers then flexed with an 8-2 run to close it out, ending on a
Harleigh Propst kill and two Johnson & Wales attack errors.
The third set was close early on. Tied 7-7, Ferrum used a 9-5 run to take a 16-12 lead, then closed it out with a 9-1 run. The Panthers claimed the final four points on a pair of Chaffin kills, and one kill each from
Carsyn Diggs and
Ruthie Richardson.
