WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina -- Carolina University overcame a 1-0 deficit to hand Ferrum College a 3-1 non-conference volleyball defeat this afternoon. Set scores at Pope Activities Center were 21-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-19.

THE BASICS
An
Airiana Beverley kill put Ferrum in front 11-4 in the opening set and the Panthers held from there for the one set to love lead.
Ferrum trailed 10-9 in the second set, but the Bruins used a 9-4 run to widen the lead to 19-13 and held to tie the match at one set each.
A Harleigh Propts kill for the Panthers midway through the third set tied the score at 13-13. Carolina U used a 12-7 run from that point to close it out and grab the two sets to one lead.
In the fourth and final set, Ferrum clung to a 5-4 lead, only to see the Bruins use a 12-5 spurt to take a 16-10 lead. Ferrum could not get closer than six points, on
Kenzee Chaffin's kill to make the score 23-17, and the host Bruins hung on for the win.
