FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College picked up a non-conference baseball win over Vermont State University Lyndon, winning 12-2 tonight at Panther Field in seven and a third innings.

THE BASICS
Vermont State got on the scoreboard first with a run in the first inning when TJ Santaw scored on a fielding error.
Ferrum would score four runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead, one when
Davis Yeaman was struck by a pitch with the bases loaded, two on
Clayton Michael's RBI single to left field and one on a
Bryce Thacker saf fly to right field.
After the Hornets scored a run in the top of the fourth on Santaw's sac fly to right, the Panthers scored five runs in the bottom of the frame to extend the lead to 9-2.
Tyler Mason was struck by a pitch with the bases loaded to get one run in, Yeaman's RBI single to right field pushed two across the plate, and a Thacker sac fly to right and a
Benjamin Thomas single to shortstop drove in another run each.
Yeaman had another RBI single in the fifth inning that allowed two more runs in to make it an 11-2 lead after five full frames. Michael blasted an RBI single through the right side to make it a 12-2 lead and the game was halted with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning using the 10-run rule.
