FERRUM, Virginia -- The Ferrum College baseball team picked up a 10-7 non-conference win over Mary Baldwin University this afternoon at Panther Field, thanks to a three RBI effort from
Clayton Michael.

Mary Baldwin scored on a error in the top of the first, to take an early 1-0 lead.
Brett Mason singled home a run and
Mason Moffett walked with the bases loaded to put Ferrum out in front 2-1 after two full innings of play. The Fighting Squirrels would score a run the third and fourth inning, retaking the lead 3-2. Moffett scored the tying run on a wild pitch. Four batters later,
Clayton Michael blasted a two-run homerun to deepest part of the center field wall., to go ahead 5-3.Â
A five run sixth inning helped the Panthers pull ahead 10-3,
Tyler Mason scored after
Russell Golembe's laid down a bunt single and advanced to third after a throwing error. Michael grounded out to the shortstop, driving in Golembe.
Noah Basham doubled to left field, driving in two more runs, and later scored on
Peter Perez's single that ricocheted off the pitchers glove. Mary Baldwin made things interesting, scoring three runs in the top of the eighth to cut the lead to four, 10-6 and one more in the ninth.
