FERRUM, Virginia – Ferrum College fell 10-5 to Guilford College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) baseball action tonight at Panther Field.

THE BASICS
Following a scoreless first inning and subsequent 42-minute rain delay, Guilford scored a run in the top of the third inning to grab the early 1-0 lead.
Ferrum responded with four runs in the bottom half of the frame.
Clayton Michael's RBI triple to center field pushed three runs across the plate and
Bryce Thacker's RBI double to left-center drove in another run for a 4-1 Panther lead after three full innings.
Guilford answered with five runs in the top half of the fourth inning, including one each on a pair of RBI singles, one on a dropped fly ball and one on a groundout. The Quakers then picked up two runs in the sixth inning on an error and two more in the seventh on an RBI double and a sac fly to extend the lead to 10-4 through seven innings.
The Panthers scored a run in the bottom of the eighth inning on
Shawn Baxter's RBI single to center field for the final 10-5 score.
