LEXINGTON, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) volleyball match tonight at Washington and Lee University. The Panthers fell 25-19, 25-11, 25-16 at the Richard L. Duchossois Athletic and Recreation Center.

THE BASICS
The Generals jumped to an early 10-4 in the first set and widened the gap to 17-8. Ferrum would use an 11-6 run to get the score down to 23-19, but the Generals picked up a pair of kills to close out the set and take the 1-0 lead. Washington and Lee used a 10-1 run midway through the second set to build a commanding 19-4 lead and never looked back in going up two sets to love.
The third and final set was tight early on, with the two teams locked up at 11-11. W&L scored three straight points on a pair of kills and a Ferrum bad set to go back out in front 14-11. The Panthers closed to within a point, 16-15, on a W&L attack error, only to see the Generals use a 9-1 run to end the set and match.

Shelbylynn Adair's team will be back in action this weekend with a pair of ODAC matches on the road. Ferrum will play at Randolph-Macon College Friday, September 20, in Ashland, Virginia, starting at 7:00 p.m. The Panthers then face Virginia Wesleyan University Saturday, September 21, at 10:00 a.m. in Virginia Beach.
