FERRUM, Virginia -- The Ferrum College women's soccer team kept its unbeaten streak alive with a 3-1 non-conference win at home over Averett University tonight at Penn-Roediger Field.

THE BASICS
Bri Bitz started things off with a goal in the first minute of play when she poked a ball past Averett goalkeeper Tiffany Hargett just with just 32 seconds run off the clock.
Breanna Herlihy was credited with an assist on the goal.
Amber Nicole Gillen's shot at the 20:50 mark was saved by Hargett, but Ashlyn Mitcham was there to take the deflection and drill it into the right side of the net to make it a 2-0 game. Celia de Diego broke up the shutout with a goal in the 25th minute of play, off a pass from Hailey Juhasz and the score was 2-1 through to halftime.
Gillen scored an insurance goal for the Panthers in the 76th minute of play when she took a through ball from
Alondra Vera and found the back of the Cougar net.
