RALEIGH, North Carolina -- Senior forward
Bri Bitz's goal in the 64th minute of play broke up a scoreless tie and sent the Ferrum College women's soccer team on to a 1-0 non-conference road win over Meredith College tonight at Meredith Track & Field Complex.

THE BASICS
Following a scoreless first half, Bitz took a pass from
Anna Milliron and beat Meredith goalkeeper Khaliah Jones. Milliron was near midfield and played a through ball to Bitz. Jones came out, only to see Bitz touch the ball around her and play it into the net for the only goal of the game.

Ashli Wuss was solid in net, making four saves, including a pair of stops late in the second half to preserve the win.
The Avenging Angels outshot Ferrum 10-8 over 90 minutes minutes of play, while the Panthers closed with a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
The win is Ferrum's fourth by shutout this season. Bitz now has 22 points this season on nine goals and four assists.
