Gray Named Freshman Offensive Player of the Year

Bryant, Gray, Ross Named 2nd Team All-Conference

FERRUM, Va. -- Conference Carolinas has announced its 2025 Football All-Conference Team and Ferrum College earned four overall awards. Headlining the list for Ferrum is freshman wide receiver Omarza Gray, who has been named the 2025 Conference Carolinas Freshman Offensive Player of the Year.

Grey also earned second team All-Conference at wide receiver. Joining Gray on the All-Conference second team are Ferrum standouts Tyrik Bryant and Cameron Ross. Bryant earned the honor as an all-purpose back, while Ross was honored as a linebacker.

Gray started in all 11 games for the Panthers this season, making 44 receptions for 767 yards and six touchdowns. He also had 24 kickoff returns for 528 yards, five rushes for 15 yards and five punt returns for 15 yards. Gray's all-purpose yardage totaled 1,325 yards for the 2025 season, averaging 120.5 yards per game.

Gray was honored twice this season with Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors. He was named Special Teams Player of the Week on September 1 and Offensive Player of the Week on October 6.

Bryant played in all 11 Ferrum games this season, making 48 receptions for 462 yards and five touchdowns, and adding 14 rushes for 40 yards. He set a new school record for single game touchdown receptions with three on November 8 at Chowan University.

In 11 games this season, Ross made 58 tackles, including 35 solo stops. He had six and a half tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries, a pass breakup, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.

Ferrum finished the season at 4-7 overall under second-year Head Coach Kevin Sherman, a 1992 Ferrum grad. The Panthers closed out Conference Carolinas play at 3-3 this season, tied for third in the seven-team league. Sherman's squad will see 22 players graduate this spring.
