FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College Football proudly announces the 16th Annual Hank Norton Golf Tournament, set for Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Botetourt Golf & Swim Country Club in Troutville, Virginia.

This annual event is more than a golf tournament; it is a celebration of the life, legacy, and lasting impact of Hank Norton, a mentor, leader, and winner in every sense of the word. Coach Norton was known for treating people the right way, leading with integrity, and building something that would endure far beyond wins and losses. His influence continues to shape Ferrum Football through the values he instilled and the standard he demanded.

The momentum surrounding this event has never been stronger. Last year's tournament marked a major milestone, featuring two full flights for the first time in over a decade, the highest number of sponsorships during the Sherman era, and an unforgettable day filled with competition, connection, and celebration. The energy was high, the turnout was outstanding, and the event once again proved how special the Ferrum Football brotherhood truly is.

Former Black Hat Jack Turner captured that spirit perfectly: "The greatest gift Coach Norton gave to me and everyone who played for him was the opportunity to be a Black Hat. From day one, he made us understand the importance of carrying on the Ferrum Tradition… The Black Hat Brotherhood was more important than any one individual. We played for those before us and more importantly for those beside us."

Turner went on to reflect on the lifelong bond forged under Coach Norton's leadership and the meaning behind this annual gathering: "The Hank Norton Golf Tournament is an opportunity for all of us young and old to share our stories about wearing the Black Hat. The players and coaches may have changed, but the message was the same: we were always going to be the toughest and most physical team on the field. That story will never change because of Coach Norton."

As Ferrum Football looks ahead to 2026, the call is clear: bring the juice. This tournament is a chance for alumni, friends, supporters,  golfers and non-golfers alike to come together, reconnect, and continue building on the tradition that makes Ferrum special.
