FERRUM, Virginia – Ferrum College's baseball team dropped both games of their double header with Virginia Wesleyan College. The Panthers lost game one 9-8 and dropped the second game 10-3.
Kyle Markowitz led Ferrum going 4-7 with two home runs and 4 RBIs.

GAME ONE
The Marlins started the game scoring 3 runs to take the lead. Ferrum responded in the bottom of the first putting 4 on the board to go ahead 4-3 after one. Markowitz went deep twice for the Panthers. In the top of the fourth, Virginia Wesleyan scored 3 to go ahead 6-5. The Panthers again responded with 3 in the bottom half of the inning to go ahead 8-6. The top of the seventh inning saw the Marlins put 3 on the board. The final score was 9-8 as Ferrum was held scoreless over their last three at bats.
GAME TWO
Virginia Wesleyan broke open a tie game with seven runs in the top of the 7
th inning to secure the 10-3 win. Ferrum used multiple pitchers in the game. Freshman
Brayden Weeks had a strong outing, pitching 2.2 innings and giving up no runs while striking out four.

Coach Eric Owen's team will be back in action on Tuesday, April 1 against Mary Baldwin. The game is set for a 5:00 PM start in Ferrum, Virginia.
