FERRUM, Virginia – Ferrum College's baseball team beat Mary Baldwin for the second time this season. The Panthers used 16 hits to beat the Squirrels 13-4.
Gavin Stone, came on in relief in the first inning and pitched 3.1 innings, striking out four and only giving up one run to earn the win.

THE BASICS
Mary Baldwin got on the board first, taking the early 2-0 lead after one. The Panthers got one back in the bottom of the first. After giving up one more run in the top of the second, Ferrum scored three in the bottom half to go ahead 4-3 and they never looked back.

Gregory Melo doubled to right center driving in three runs and putting the game out of reach.
Carlos Castillo had a stellar night at the plate, going 4-5, scoring two runs and knocking in one.
Gabriel Lebron delivered a solid defensive performance, highlighted by a diving catch to end the Squirrels third inning.
Matthew Sheppard, pitching in relief, put together a solid four innings, striking out five, including the side in the top of the 7
th inning.
