DANVILLE, Virginia -- Ferrum College picked up a 9-8 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) baseball comeback win over Averett University this afternoon on the road. The Panthers needed a pair of runs in the ninth inning to escape with the win at Owens-Fulton Field.

THE BASICS
Ferrum jumped out to a 7-1 lead after four innings, but Averett responded with a pair of runs each in the fifth and sixth innings, one in the seventh and two in the eighth to take an 8-7 lead.

Gabriel Lebron drilled an RBI single to left center in the top of the ninth inning to push two runs across the plate, then the Panther defense did the rest to preserve the comeback win. Lebron closed the day 4-5 with a run and three RBI.
Tyler Mason (1-0) pitched the final inning and a third to get the win. One of six Panthers to see action on the hill, Mason allowed two hits, one earned run and no walks, while striking out one batter.
