FERRUM, Virginia – Ferrum College's baseball team avenged an earlier loss in the season by beating Roanoke College 9-5.
Jai Penn, last weeks ODAC pitcher of the week, pitched six strong innings, striking out six to earn the win.

THE BASICS
Roanoke jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first when Tyler Galloway hit a triple with the bases loaded. Ferrum responded in the bottom of the second.
Tyler Mason doubled to center, scoring
JJ Tyree and
Gregory Melo, pushing the Panthers ahead 4-3. The Panthers exploded for five runs in the bottom of the 4
th inning, giving themselves a 9-4 advantage.
Eli Elliott led Ferrum, going 3-4 with one RBI and one run scored.
Tyler Mason was 2-3 knocking in two RBI's and scoring one.

Coach Eric Owen's team will be back in action on Friday, April 18 against Covenant College. The game is set for a 5:00 PM start in Johnson City, Tennessee.
