GREENSBORO, North Carolina -- Guilford College got three runs in the final two innings, including one in the bottom of the ninth inning to earn a 7-6 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) baseball win this afternoon over Ferrum College this afternoon at McBane Field.

THE BASICS
Guilford scored a run in the first inning, but Ferrum responded with a four runs in the second inning, including two on RBI singles by
Tyler Mason and
Carlos Castillo., to grab a 4-1 lead. The Quakers added two run in the bottom of the second inning and one in the fifth tie tie the game at 4-4.Â
JJ Mulhern's RBI single to shortstop in the top of the sixth inning put Ferrum back on top 5-4, but the Quakers picked up two in the bottom of the eighth on Collin McGuire's home run down the right field line to go back out in front 6-5.
Shawn Baxter reached on a fielders choice in the top of the ninth inning, allowing Mason to score and the game was tied at 6-6. In the bottom half of the frame with two outs, McGuire was struck by a pitch with the bases loaded to allow Rylan Smith to cross the plate.
Guilford reliever Jack Ratliff (1-0) got the win after pitching an inning with two hits and a strikeout. Castillo went 3-5 at the plate for Ferrum with an RBI and a stolen base.Â
