FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped a non-conference baseball game at home to Southern Virginia University, falling 18-8 tonight at Panther Field.

THE BASICS
The two teams were tied 6-6 after five full innings when Southern Virginia erupted for 11 runs in the sixth inning to break the game open.
Included in the sixth-inning barrage was a three-run homer to left by the Knights' Ryan Farris.
Kyle Markowitz closed the game 2-2 at the plate with a pair of runs for Ferrum.
