FERRUM, Va. -- Conference Carolinas has announced its Track & Field Athletes of the Week for January 27 and two Ferrum College student-athletes have been honored.
Zenallah Hatcher-Simmons has been named Women's Field Athlete of the week, while
Jahmal Jones earned Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
Hatcher-Simmons finished 10th in the women's shot put January 23 at the Liberty Open in Lynchburg, Virginia. Her distance of 12.39m is a season's best and now the #93 distance among NCAA Division II competitors. Hatcher-Simmons also competed in the women's weight throw, finishing 28th with a 12.23m distance.
Jones won the men's 60m at the Liberty Open with a time of 6.75 seconds, a new PR and now the #12 time in Division II this season. Jones also finished fifth in the men's 200m with a time of 21.53 seconds, a season best and currently the #12 time in Division II.

Andre Kidd. This is the first career honor for both.
The Panthers will be back in action Friday and Saturday, February 6-7, at the Doc Hale Invite. The event will be hosted by Virginia Tech at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Virginia.
