WILSON, N.C. — The Ferrum College women's basketball team dropped a Conference Carolinas road contest on Friday evening, falling 65–48 to Barton College at Wilson Gymnasium. Freshmnan Dezariyah Clark led Ferrum with a team high eleven points.

THE BASICS
Ferrum struggled to find an offensive rhythm early as Barton opened the game with a strong first half, building a 33–15 lead at the break. The Bulldogs were paced by Layne Sleight, who scored 19 points, including three first-quarter three-pointers that helped Barton take control early.

Despite the slow start, the Panthers responded with improved play in the second half. Ferrum shot 46.2 percent from the floor in the third quarter and followed with its best shooting stretch of the night in the fourth, hitting 66.7 percent from the field over the final 10 minutes.

Clark contributed several baskets in transition to spark the Panthers' second-half push. Aleksandra Kubiak chipped in eight points, knocking down a pair of three-pointers, while Maslyn Mosbacher finished with seven points and two steals. Taryn Blankenship and Breyana Kimmons  anchored the effort on the glass, combining for 12 rebounds.

Ferrum won the bench scoring battle 20–14 and outscored Barton 33–32 over the final two quarters, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome. Barton finished with a 37–36 rebounding edge and converted 14-of-20 attempts at the free-throw line.
