FERRUM, Va. -- The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Association has named the 2025-26 All-State teams and Ferrum College's
Omarza Gray has been honored. Gray was named to the College Division Football All-State First Team.
A freshman wide receiver from Roanoke, Virginia, Gray was named the 2025 Conference Carolinas Football Offensive Rookie of the Year after a stellar first season with the Panthers. In 11 games, Gray made 44 receptions for 767 yards and six touchdowns.
Gray's longest catch came in Ferrum's October 4 home game against Shorter University. The Panthers trailed 25-21 when he hauled in a pass from
Eli Foutz and sprinted 92 yards down the left sideline for a touchdown with 1:03 left in regulation to lift Ferrum to a 28-25 comeback win. Gray also returned 24 kickoffs for 528 yards this season, as well as five punts for 15 yards.Â
Ferrum's football team finished 4-7 overall in the College's first season of reclassification to the NCAA Division II ranks. The Panthers finished tied for third in the seven-team Conference Carolinas final standings.
Gray is one of eight athletes from Ferrum to earn VaSID All-State during the 2025-26 school year.
VaSID names over 40 All-State teams annually, including college division and university division, and well as college and University All-Sports titles and an Academic All-State Team. The state organization is comprised of athletic communicators from across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
