FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College was defeated 6-1 by University of Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas women's tennis match Tuesday afternoon, March 24, at Burrows Tennis Courts.

Stephanie Porras earned a 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles, but Mount Olive secured the doubles point with a win at No. 2 and a default victory at No. 3.
In singles play, Solorzano recorded the team's lone individual win with an 8-5 decision at No. 1. She is now 7-1 in singles play this season, all at the top spot. Mount Olive responded by winning the remaining five matches, including straight-set, pro-set wins at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 singles, while also earning default victories at No. 5 and No. 6 to complete the league win.
