FERRUM, Va. — Virginia State University defeated Ferrum College 5-2 in non-conference women's tennis action this afternoon at the Burrows Tennis Courts.

THE BASICS
Virginia State opened the match by sweeping all three doubles contests to take the early lead. The visitors then secured three additional points in singles play to clinch the victory.
Ferrum's two points came at the top of the singles lineup.
Bianca Solorzano earned a convincing 6-0, 6-1 win over Sky Carter at No. 1 singles, while
Stephanie Porras battled to a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Makensie Pago at No. 2.
