FERRUM, Va. – Ferrum College dropped a Conference Carolinas baseball game to #6 North Greenville University, falling 5–3 in 10 innings this afternoon at Panther Field.

THE BASICS
Both teams were locked in a pitcher's duel early, with neither side scoring through the first two innings. North Greenville broke through in the third inning on an RBI single from Landon Peavy to take a 1-0 lead. Ferrum answered in the bottom half when
Tyler Mason delivered a clutch two-run triple to right-center, scoring
CJ Kemmerer and
Gage Miller to give the Panthers a 2-1 advantage.
The Trailblazers evened the score at 2-2 in the fourth inning on a solo home run by Kai Tullos. North Greenville regained the lead in the sixth with an RBI single from Connor McKee, making it 3-2. Both pitching staffs settled in from there. Ferrum's bullpen combined to keep the deficit at one, highlighted by scoreless outings from
Campbell Short and
Drew Fisher to keep the Panthers within striking distance.
Ferrum found the equalizer in the ninth inning. Kemmerer reached with a bunt single and later came around to score on a wild pitch, tying the game at 3-3 and forcing extra innings.
In the 10th, North Greenville capitalized immediately as CJ Dean led off with a solo home run to left field, then Tullos delivered an RBI double to right-center to extend the lead to 5-3. Ferrum was unable to respond in the bottom of the frame, as NGU closed out the victory.
