FERRUM, Va. — Ferrum College dropped both games of a Conference Carolinas doubleheader against #6 North Greenville University Saturday at Panther Field, falling 11-1 in the opener and losing 7-4 in the nightcap.

GAME ONE
North Greenville dominated the first game, scoring six runs in the third inning and building an 11-1 lead. The Crusaders got home runs from Thomas Powell, Lane McGaha, and Skyler Hegler, including McGaha's three-run homer. Ferrum's lone run came in the fourth inning on an RBI single from Garrett Pancione, scoring Niko Papathanasiou. The Panthers collected five hits on the day, with Pancione and Colin Kim each recording hits.
Bennett Roemer earned the win for North Greenville, allowing one run on four hits while striking out nine over six innings. Ferrum's pitching staff—Jai Penn, Connor Courtney, and Kaleb Tischler—combined to allow 10 runs on 11 hits.

In the nightcap, Hunter Carlson, Pancione, Colin Kim, Gage Miller, and Jachob Walters each contributed hits, with Walters driving in two runs in the ninth inning during a late rally.
North Greenville scored early and added insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings, highlighted by a two-RBI homer from Cooper Noble. The Crusaders totaled 11 hits, including doubles from Thomas Powell and Cj Dean, and Oliver Adams earned the win on the mound.
Ferrum's pitching staff—Steven Ritchie, Campbell Short, Brayden Smith, Carter Liverman, Torin Bundy, and Brayden Weeks—allowed seven runs on eight hits.
