Paustenbach Joins Ferrum Staff as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

FERRUM, Va. -- Director of Athletics Cleive Adams has announced the hiring of Kevin Paustenbach as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Ferrum College. Paustenbach will work under first-year Head Coach James Johnson.

Paustenbach comes to Ferrum from Millennia Atlantic University in Doral, Florida, where he served as Head Men's Basketball Coach. At MAU, he was responsible for all aspects of the men's basketball program, including scheduling games and practices, conducting film sessions, player development, scouting, recruiting, and fundraising.

Prior to MAU, Paustenbach was Head Men's Basketball Coach at ASA College Miami. He served as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Incarnate Word in 2020-21 and as Sports Information Coordinator at Broward College in 2019-20. Prior to Broward, Paustenbach was Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Intramurals & Wellness Director at Middle Georgia State University from 2012-18.

Paustenbach earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Management from Malone University in 2010. He then went on to earn his Master of Science degree in Sport Management from Georgia Southern University in 2018.

Paustenbach is married to his wife of six years, Argerie. They have a three-year-old son, Alan, and a one-year-old daughter, Grace.

"I am excited to add Kevin and his family to our staff," said Johnson. "He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from all levels of coaching to Ferrum and will be a tremendous asset to the community, the College, and our players. I am looking forward to Kevin helping us build on the tradition here at Ferrum."
