FERRUM, Va. -- The United Soccer Coaches organization has announced the 2025-26 College Team Academic Award winners, and the Ferrum College women's soccer team was among those recognized. The award recognizes teams for their exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year.

Conference Carolinas had six women's soccer programs honored: Belmont Abbey College, Erskine College, Ferrum College, Francis Marion University, University of Mount Olive, and UNC Pembroke. A total of 777 soccer teams (326 men's, 451 women's) posted a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year.

Ferrum finished the 2025 women's soccer season last November with an 8-9-2 overall record, including a 5-8 mark in Conference Carolinas play. The Panthers advanced to the Conference Carolinas Tournament with a quarterfinal upset of Chowan University on the road Nov. 5.

Ferrum is led by eighth-year Head Coach Erin Saleeby-Dent, Associate Head Coach Wes Lewis and Assistant Coach Bri Bitz. The Panthers open the 2026 season Saturday, August 29, at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia. League play begins Saturday, September 5, at Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina.
